Culturelink Fieldwork Project was formed in 1997 as a means to link volunteers with archaeological projects in an efficient manner using the latest technologies.

Our first project is the Ometepe Petroglyph Project, a five year field survey of archaeological sites on the Nicaraguan Island of Ometepe. 1999 is the final year of this phase of the project.

The goal of our project is to link people with cultures they may be unfamiliar with, to promote an interchange between cultures, to open minds to the possibilities that there might be alternative ways to solving social problems. Hence the name Culturelink.

And of course we do archaeological fieldwork. In addition to training volunteers to find and collect data, we also feel it's important to educate volunteers and locals alike in techniques available to preserve their past.

Data collection, sharing, education, and preservation, that's what we're about.

I invite you to inquire about volunteering for one of our projects, or even to suggest a new one.
