Four Petroglyphs from the 1997 Field season have been chosen for inclusion on our website because they include representations or themes repeated many times on many of the petroglyph panels found on Ometepe Island.

Each panel was photographed with traditional film and by digital camera. Volunteers then drew each petroglyph panel by hand. Sites were mapped and recorded and the petroglyph information put in a database.
