The picture below shows part of a large basalt boulder near the boulder previously described.

A finely worked oval form can be seen on the upper left side of the boulder and parallel vertical lines (or "stripes") to the right. These lines, which are generally 3-4 cm wide and less than 1 cm deep, are found on stones scattered over the survey area as well as on this site. At first we dismissed them as "natural" formations or weathering of the rock. The number of representations here in association with other more conventional pecked petroglyphs made us rethink this, and we started recording all the isolated examples of these "stripes."

A cm scale is included to give an indication of size of the oval in the photograph below.
